James, Matt and I got to go to the American Music Awards tonight! James’s fiancé Briggon works for Dick Clark Productions and got us tickets; it was so fun! I’ve never been to an awards show before, so it was really neat to watch how it all worked and how much effort went into it. … Continue reading
My intention of the day was to spoil V with lots of attention, because I’m going to be gone a lot this week. We decided to go play at a nearby farm/pumpkin patch, and spontaneously met up with a dear friend I haven’t gotten to spend time with in so long, and her son. We … Continue reading
Today was the second Monday in my “make dinner four Mondays in a row” goal! I’ve been thinking about what I would make today for over a week. I wanted to make something that felt like a treat, but with much better ingredients. My daughter loves French fries, but we never give them to her … Continue reading
Five years ago today, my husband, C, proposed. Never heard the story? Don’t worry; I wrote all about it, here, five years ago. I wasn’t sure about marrying C. I mean, we’d broken up a lot of times. All of them were difficult. At times we seemed to bring out the worst in one another. … Continue reading
Tonight was the night I just really didn’t want to blog. I had nothing to say, I didn’t feel like it. I just wanted a free pass. I’m just over a third of the way through this #100daysofblogging challenge, and I was getting nervous that I’m already running out of things to say. “Letter Q, … Continue reading
What I’ve learned about perfect days: They are not sleeping in, enjoying coffee in silence, reading a book on the patio, going to the beach, having lunch with a friend, watching the sun go down, having a date with the husband, watching a movie and falling asleep spooning. They were like that, before. But today’s … Continue reading
Guys. My husband found me this sugar free candy at Whole Foods when I quit sugar earlier this year. They were gummy bears, and despite not having cane sugar or high fructose corn syrup (or agave or anything like that), they tasted like gummy bears. And unlike other sugar free candies, there is no sorbitol … Continue reading
I can’t believe I’m already 20 blogs in! Twenty percent done. I also can’t believe there are 80 blogs left. That feels like so many, haha. 😭 Anyway, here’s the skirt I was talking about yesterday! After I blogged last night, I went downstairs and gave the sewing machine another go. And you know what?! … Continue reading
One of my short-term goals is to make V and myself matching skirts by the end of the summer. Which, despite our SoCal heatwave this week, is approaching rapidly. The only snag is that I haven’t used a sewing machine in, like, fourteen years. I love to sew, and I’ve mostly always hand-sewn. There’s something … Continue reading
I recommend getting yourself a family member who works for Disney. My mom does, so I have had more magical Disneyland experiences than I can count. Even saying that, today was one for the books. It was just my mom, V and me and so we took it slow and only did a couple of … Continue reading
