I’m reading Slow by Brooke McAlary and this little tiny bomb she dropped just blew my mind:
Behavioral consultant Nicholas Bate refers to this regular checking in as “taking your MEDS,” or, more specifically, paying attention to:
- Mindfulness
- Exercise
- Diet
- Sleep
Wait.
Is there anything in the world that those four things can’t fix?
Mindfulness. Exercise. Diet. Sleep.
Have I just been making this too complicated for thirty-plus years?!
(By the way, if you haven’t checked out this book but you read this blog, you need this book. It’s the book I would have written myself had I actually been disciplined enough. Go get it. Or…check it out from the library!)
