We’re back from Costa Rica!
It was amazing. We can’t believe we’ve been married for two weeks already! Photos to come of the reception + honeymoon in a later post. The only things you won’t see photos of are our bug bites, of which, trust me, there are plenty. Costa Rica is a mosquito’s dream come true.
But now, for some wedding photos!
Venue: Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Ranch
Photo Credit: Cecily Breeding + Achiamar Lee-Rivera
Officiant: John Darakjian
Wedding Coordinator: Tracy Choy
Hair + Make Up: Danielle Thomas
Cake: Marianne Wolfe
Flowers: Westlake Florist
Chalkboards: Kimber Quartararo

We started getting ready in the dark. My alarm went off at 2am! As we got to Walnut Grove, the moon was still in the sky.

Rather than a first look with C, I chose to have a first look with my dad. I wanted a special moment with him before we walked down the aisle. I assumed he would be the one in tears, but it was actually me! The first time I said, “Hi Daddy,” I said it so softly that he didn’t actually hear me.

We hated the idea of a traditional unity exercise, so Cyrus bought some boards and we broke them. (Yes, as in “Hiiii-ya!” He has a martial arts background. There’s a picture below!) To disguise the boards so no one knew what we were up to, Cyrus painted them silver and we tied the rings to them. 🙂

I had two bridesmaids who are tall, two who are under 5’5″ and one who just gave birth — I let them pick their own dresses as long as it was gray and long. I loved the look of all their different dresses!

Our officiant John is a close personal friend. We had no idea what he was going to say. He cracked us up by comparing us to Mario and Princess Peach!

I practiced breaking boards for the month leading up to the wedding. We thought it would be silly but everyone actually liked it!

It was important to us to honor our mothers. First, we gave roses to our own mothers and then we gave roses to one another’s mothers. 🙂 I have two moms, so that was a total of six roses! This is me kissing C’s mom.

I was nervous that day, but I didn’t have cold feet at all! The kiss was the best part — I was so happy!
More photos soon! Love you guys!
